I hope you have enjoyed the countdown that has taken much blood, sweat, and tears. I have really enjoyed going back and watching hours of footage to come up with what I feel are the Top 10 best performances. We know that we have some music lovin’ friends in the late night and their names are Paul Shaffer and David Letterman. Please go back and check out #10-#1 if you missed any of these great performances. The David Letterman show consistently has good live performances often made better by Paul Shaffer and the now titled CBS Orchestra. So be sure to check out the show and look for blogs and Youtube to replay the ones you can’t stay up for.
At #1 it’s a new band we have talked about here at Spool Going Round. Local Chicagoland guys doing good. Really good. This their US television debut. It starts out reckless and builds into A TOTAL OVERVENTURSOME PERFORMANCE. Sorry the caps lock was on. Is the singer drunk? Is he on goof balls? Is he just young? This is youth and we can point out what is wrong with youth but sometimes you have to stand in awe of it. All through the performance, hip thrusting, sitting on Dave’s set, you are wondering what is Dave thinking about all of this and at the end you realize, this is it baby. He wants them to play more but guess what they can’t because all the guitar strings are shredded. Don’t let that scare you but let it free you!
You might be thinking SGR, what’s the deal? This is from just a few nights ago, is it really the best or just the freshest? Yes
God bless the Orwells and David Letterman. Here they are at #1 The Orwells performing “Who Needs You”
