Don’t blame the IRS. The Bunnymen are coming to Chicago.

“Holy Moses” from forthcoming Meteorite release

Echo & the Bunnymen have a new album on the way and a tour of the US this fall. I celebrate with a bit of trepidation since the last time I bought Echo & the Bunnymen tickets I was very excited to go see the show only to hear they were canceling the tour blaming the IRS. When you hear something like that as a fan it makes you question things and wonder if this is just about the money man.  What about the fans? I was swearing the names of many Liverpudlians.

With irony intact they have announced a new US tour on the IRS holiday known as tax day, today April 15th. Surely it will be too hot to wear the old leather jacket in the Metro come August 10th.

Maybe in this year of 2014 Echo & the Bunnymen will finally take U2’s crown?? New album produced by Youth is titled Meteorites and you can pledge your allegiance here.

About Spool Going Round

If you like my blog and have access to programming and would like to do a radio/internet show together, please contact me. My name is Mike. I am an on-air radio DJ. I fell in love with radio in Chicago and then took that passion to someplace where I could actually get on the air. My travels took me to Seattle, WA, Eugene and Portland, OR and Washington D.C., where I was able to have my own morning show. I've had crab cakes with Warren Zevon, sat backstage and interviewed Sting, had Melissa Etheridge sing to me from the front row and I loved every minute of it. That passion for music still burns strong in me and I love to talk music and be turned on to music. Sharing new music with people is what got me interested in radio in the first place. It is wonderful to be able to talk music with you. "Go ahead you're on the air..." Read more:
